  1. Hi,

My name is Deanda Johnson and I work the National Park Service, National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Program. I am working with some people on a nomination for a Sandusky property and came across you mention of a Gabriel Smith who recalled working with Elijah Anderson helping to conduct escaped slaves to Sandusky. I was just wondering what is the source of this statement. Did Smith’s reminiscences appear in a local newspaper? Would appreciate any assistance you might be willing or able to give. Would of course list you as the contributor if the information in the nomination. Thanks!

    Deanda
